She's been slowly getting there over the past week or so, but I'm pretty sure that Sadie had her first laughing fit today! I was playing nosey-nosey-nose with her (you know what that is, right?), and I was using her own feet instead of my finger. Man, to be that limber again... Anyhow, it started as a sort of soft sound that was a bit like the prelude to a sneeze. Then she busted out with this tremendous smile. And then...giggles! It even made Elsa stop what she was doing, which is pretty impressive, since, for the most part she kind of ignores Sadie (it's better than being jealous of or mean to her).
As for Elsa, we've been playing with her plastic animal figurines. The game? According to Elsa, "Animals Go To Ice Cream Store". They all order chocolate in a bowl with "crust". Sounds like a good topping to me, actually, as I assume she's talking about pie crust. But who knows?
Also, before it vanishes into the past like so many cute things before it (going back through blog entries has made it clear that even things I thought I'd never forget have sadly faded), I want to document a funny thing that Elsa says from time to time. She'll be whining about something, say, more goldfish (crackers, of course). And maybe I'll have already addressed the situation, telling her that we're going to be eating dinner soon. She'll keep whining, getting close to the breaking point, and then stop herself, saying, very soberly, "Let Daddy say, 'Calm down, calm down.'" And that usually settles her down, nothing actually needed from my end. Let's just say that Elsa is quite the little director.
Incidentally, "Let Daddy" means "Daddy do it now." Funny kid.
