So whenever I'm in these situations I think "what would MacGuyver do now???" ... make a super absorbent nappy out of an old real estate brochure, bits of chewing gum and a birds nest. Great! Man some days I really wish there were a "Daddy MacGyver" course we could all go on ... where Richard Dean Anderson comes back from the 80s (maybe with a better hair cut) and teaches us all these important skills and how to apply them to looking after kids. Or maybe a MacGyver handbook ... that would be even better! Well I haven't found anything close to it yet - so in the meantime I have to resort to watching old episodes to see what skills I can pick up. In case you haven't seen any for a while ... here's the intro to get you in the mood: -Stef

Do you sometimes feel like you require all the skills of MacGyver to look after your little one(s) in the house? I do ... all the time. One minute I need to repair a toy (with no spare parts and a kitchen knife as the only tool); next I have to cook a nutritious meal with only an apple, some old bread and an egg in the house and then there's usually some sort of potential contamination disaster (nappy leaks) to deal with (usually with my bare hands) and so on.
