Andrea and Eric will review products and give their own views on the products. They start their Face Off with a review of phil&teds Wriggle Wrapper
The Wriggle Wrapper comes packed in a durable drawstring bag that will easily fit in your glove box or nappy bag. It is made from durable high tensile fabrics for strength and performance and features rubber grip material on the underside to halt slipping and sliding. Available in red or grey. Sleep configuration: suitable from birth to 24 months From Andrea (Mum) We basically used the Wriggle Wrapper to convert a dinner chair into a high chair and it was fantastic, as the chair was a little lower we used a pillow underneath Ava’s bum to prop her up, our little girl is one to slide down and “slouch” in her chair so I was expecting that the pillow and child would end up going for a slide but whether it was the rubber grip on the bottom or the snugness of the fastenings round the back of the chair there was no movement what-so-ever and Ava was able to enjoy meals up at the table, at the same level as the rest of us. Another great feature was the way that the child was fitted into the wrap, basically it comes up between their legs and two side flaps come round and super strength Velcro’s to the middle flap, which also has a second clip to ensure it doesn’t come unstuck, lastly you fold the first flap back down over everything and it domes up – the child ain’t going no where!! Another bonus to the way the wrapper is fastened is that it allows a snug fit whatever the size or age of your baby and I imagine would also give great support to a younger baby who has only just learnt to sit up. The fastenings around the back of the chair were also adjustable so great to fit pretty much any chair too. The only down side I could see to this function of the wriggle wrapper is if you had a child who was not prepared to co-operate and sit still to go into the wriggle wrapper in the first place, the age for use as a feeding aid is 6-24 mths and I would probably suggest the earlier you start using it the better, then the child is used to it, then again it also depends on the child, Ava is almost 14mths and didn’t seem to mind it a bit. Naturally food was spilt and mess was made but the wriggle wrapper stood up pretty well, hard wearing material that most things just wiped off and of course it can be thrown in the wash if needed. We didn’t use the wriggle wrapper for sleeping although it’s a great option if you’re planning on putting your child down for a sleep where there isn’t a cot, however again it is something I would think you would have to start early as I feel it would be a bit mean to tie your baby down in one position, I know Ava likes to roll from her back to her side and even on to her tummy when she is asleep so I anticipate lots of tears and a huge protest if I even attempt this. Overall, I think the wriggle wrapper is a great product. Light, compact, easy to use and very functional....I might even consider getting rid of the highchair that’s taking up space in our dining room! From Eric (Dad) Looking the 3 options to use the Wriggle Wrapper, I knew I could cancel out Ava sleeping in this, apart from being swaddled when she was very little, she has been free to roll and shuffle around in her sleep. However strapping the Wriggle Wrapper to a dining chair and sitting Ava in the easy to use holster was in summary fantastic!
