DIY in minutes - cuddly superheroes

If your little one is fascinated by superheroes (who isn't) and still wonders how grover turns into SUPER GROVER, here's a 1-minute DIYFather project that turns any cuddly toy into a superhero (and you'll be one as well for making it with your child).

Here's what you'll need:
1 Felt sheet, 9 by 12 inch of any color
* Felt scraps
* Ribbon, 18 inches of any color
* Scissors
* Glue

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Get your child to take the sheet of felt and fold over one of the 9 inch ends about 2 inches. With scissors, cut ΒΌ inch slits into the fold. Your child or you, if your child is too young, should try to cut the slits one inch apart from each other.

2. Simply weave the ribbon through the slits going under and over the felt until you reach the other side. If your child wants to decorate the cape, cut out shapes of a diamond, bat, etc... using the felt scraps. Make shapes that look like your little one's favorite Superhero.

3. Glue the shape onto the back of the cape. Then put the initials of the cuddly toy's name on the cape. Cut the letters out of the felt scraps and glue them onto the shape on the cape.

4. When the glue is dry, tie the ribbon around the cuddly toy's neck into a bow and push the felt along the ribbon towards itself to scrunch the top of the cape.

Easy - you can turn any cuddly toy into a superhero cuddly toy that way!

I made each of my boys a cape

I made each of my boys a cape a few months ago. But, after I did it I realized that it might not have been super smart of me to tie it around their necks right before they jump off the banister (little bits to get the cape caught on). Better to attach the cape to a shirt in such a way that it can tear away if caught. Oh, I know, you're talking about teddy bears. Sorry, I got on a tangent :-)
